Notes:
  • Balancing beads are designed for use on trailers with a minimum of a 1/2-ton suspension. Do not use these beads on passenger cars or SUVs.
  • If your tire has internal TPMS sensors, you will need to break down the tire to install these beads.

How Counteract Tire Balancing Works

Once your tire begins to roll, the beads will get distributed around its interior thanks to centrifugal force. As the wheel continues to spin, the heavy spot in your unbalanced tire will pull up and down on your vehicle's suspension. This will cause the beads to shift in the opposite direction of that pull. The beads will continue to migrate until there are enough of them on the opposite side of the heavy spot to balance your tire.

I needed these beads to add to my spare tire. However I had an issue with the beads that were offered in tires prior to Covid. The tires were expired when they were installed. The issue was that the tire could not be inflated because the beads clogged the valve. I tried to contact the vendor but could not get any feedback. It appears that the valve or beads have been redone. If you have issues just carry extra valves.

  • Is It Recommended To Balance A 13" Trailer Tire?
Hello Blake, thanks for reaching out. So trailer tires typically are not balanced the same way as vehicle tires. With trailers every wheel and tire has a high (heavy) and low (light) spot. The manufacturers offset the high spot on the tire with the low spot on the wheel to balance them. They are not spun on a machine like car tires and they do not use weights. Any shop that does trailer tires should be able to adequately balance a trailer tire and wheel. All of our tire and wheel combos...

  • Are Trailer Wheel and Tires Balanced
Hey Larry, since trailer wheel and tires aren't normally balanced the Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire with 14" Black Wheel # AM3S451 are not either. Generally there's not much of an upside to having them balanced so to keep costs down we don't sell them balanced. Now if you did want a way to balance them a little easier we have balancing beads like the part # CA66VR which you'd add through the valve stem.

  • Are Trailer Wheels and Tires Balanced
Hey Jon, none of our trailer wheel and tire combos are balanced as trailer wheels don't generally get balanced. With that said we do have balance beads with the part # CA66VR if you wanted to balance them yourself easily. Have you noticed wheel vibration before.

Hi Rod! Trailer tires we sell come balanced in the manner that trailer tires are balanced. Every tire and every wheel has a high (heavy) and low (light) spot. The manufacturers offset the high spot on the tire with the low spot on the wheel to balance them. They are not spun on a machine like car/truck tires. That said, you can have them balanced by a shop or use something like the Counteract Tire Balancing Beads Single Pack for Trailers - 4 oz # CA66VR if you would like. It isn't really...

  • Are Trailer Wheel and Tire Combos Balanced
Hey Robert, our trailer wheel and tire combos like the Strider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" Revolver Black Mod Wheel # TA27AR are not balanced as generally people don't balance trailer wheels. The weights don't stay on trailer wheels well and most of the time it's not something that can be noticed or felt. We do have balance beads like the part # CA66VR which is a pretty inexpensive way to accomplish balancing them. Have you felt an unbalanced trailer wheel and tire before?

Hey Tyler! The Goodyear Endurance ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w/ 15" Eagle Aluminum Wheel # GY37QB does not come balanced. This is the case for almost every trailer tire. Since they're designed to support the weight of the trailer, and not provide a smooth ride for passengers, it really isn't necessary. However, you can always add Counteract Tire Balancing Beads # CA66VR if you prefer to have balanced tires. Are you replacing old wheels and tires or will this be for a spare?

Hey Harold! When you mount tires on your # AM20443 you do not need to get them balanced.
